Davy Crockett was born in Greene County, Tennessee on August 17, 1786 when Crockett was a child, his father, John Crockett, hired him away to a cattle drive owned by a man named Jacob Siler, a few years after the cattle drive, davy turned 13 and went to a one room school that had opened near his home. One day at school, he waited in the bushes by the path and ambushed a bully and got into a huge fight. He was sure the schoolmaster had seen so he never went to school and convinced his brothers not to tell. After a while the schoolmaster realized that Crockett had not been in school. When John Crockett found out, he was infuriated. After getting beaten by his father with a stick, davy ran away, while he was gone, he went hunting and joined a lot of cattle drives. He became well known and many people liked him. But eventually, he decided that enough was enough and he returned home. Him running away took a big effect on him, it made him stronger and smarter.
Getting Married Two and a half years later, Crockett returned home. He decided that he was an adult and he went out to find a wife. The first few times, it didn't go well. But then one day, he was at a party where he met Mary Finley,They liked each other so, in August 12, 1806, they got married.
The Creek War
The Crockett family was broke, Like many Families out west, so, Davy Crockett decided to join the indian creek war. He was led by a man named General Andrew Jackson, someone who would later become his political enemy Davy respected the Natives, he understood that they didn't want their land taken, unlike most people from tennessee who just wanted the natives land for themselves.
Political Life
After the war Crockett returned home and decided to dive into politics. He decided to do so because many people liked him, he was very popular. He ran for state legislature and won. After a while he decided to run for congress and he won. Soon, the wigs approved him to be a presidential candidate. He opposed Andrew Jackson and Crockett lost by a little bit, and after that, he decided he was done with politics.
Texas Independence
Then, Crockett decided to head to texas and fight for there freedom from Mexico to renew his political career. He joined a militia with many others and defended a fort called the alamo with many other great pioneers. One day, the mexicans stormed the fort, crockett died along with every other one of the 182-257 defender. He would be remembered as a hero forever.
