“Hey Zach,” I asked my brother on a warm sunny day, “Do you dare me to jump off the stairs?”“Why would anybody do that?,” He replied. “But yeah, sure. Go do it now.” I rolled my eyes.“I meant later.”“Alright. Not only do I dare you, but I double dare you!” He said, getting in my face.“Fine, In five minutes, meet me upstairs.” I retorted. Suddenly, he sealed the deal.I TRIPLE DOG DARE you!” He exclaimed. Now it was too late! I couldn’t refuse to do this! “Fine! Challenge accepted!” A few minutes later, we met upstairs. Zach had put everything from pillows to blankets in the stairwell.
“All set.” Zach said.
“Now go.” I went down three steps.
“Hurry up!” Zach replied.
I bent down like a spring being pushed down on, braced myself for the consequences of my actions and the thrill, and I ascended into the air as my legs and arms unfurled as I leapt down towards the stairwell. I aimed for the pillows and landed on them with my legs pulled up to my chest, but as I landed, I hit a hard, smooth substance that pushed my legs into my chest. Pain shot through me like a bullet.
“OW!” I yelled. The pillows were hard and uncomfortable like a smooth, plastic-like brick. That’s not what pillows feel like! I thought as I reached inside a pillowcase and found a large, hard-covered book!
“What the!? Zach!” Zach had tricked me! I looked up at him, and he was smiling a cold, cool smile, ! “Wow! I can’t believe you did it! Ha-ha! Bye!” He snickered as he ran down the hall to my bedroom.
“I will get you!” I yelled. THE END!
