Have you ever fought against your own country? Well that happened in the texas revolution. And you WILL read my writing, no matter what you do!
Texas
The Mexican government's decision about the area of land called Texas changed its future forever. Not many Mexicans wanted to live their, and only the few people who were living there made a population of a few thousand people living their. They were having trouble fighting of the Native Americans, so they loosened their immigration rules and allowed people from other countries to immigrate to it. Soon, Americans outnumbered Mexicans 3 to 1. Mexicans banned American immigrants but they continued to come, and the rules that the immigrants had to follow, such as no slavery and that they had to learn speak Spanish, angered them. That was one of the major factors of the revolution.
The Alamo
The people of Texas declared their independence so that they could make their own rules. Soon, they started getting rid of Mexican soldiers in the big Texas cities.  As soon as the Mexicans heard about it, the leader of Mexico, Santa Anna, personally led an army to crush the rebellion. In the town Bexar, where all Mexican troops had been pushed out of, they planned to take it back. Hearing this, Jim Bowie and all of his soldiers retreated to a old mission called the Alamo. The invading soldiers didn’t launch an assault for a while. They usually just sat around When they did attack, they only had 1,400 troops, with another 400 in reserve. It took a long time for them to take the Alamo and kill all the inhabitants. But the siege cost them 1500 troops and a reason for the Texans to fight.

The Battle of San Jacinto
Sam houston, the leader of the army of Texas, was pursued by Santa Anna. It took them 6 weeks, which Sam Houston was using to train his army.Later, on April 21, 1836, the Texas army snuck up on Santa Anna's army, and attacked. It took 18 minutes for Sam to defeat Santa, then they captured Santa Anna. They forced him to sign a document acknowledging their freedom, in exchange for Santa’s freedom.

Aftermath
After Santa Anna signed, the majority of Texas voted Sam Houston as the new president of the republic of Texas. Most Texans wanted to join the United States of America, but Texas wanted to be admitted as a slave state, and people either didn’t want to have another slave state, or they thought it might end up with total war with Mexico. But 10 years later, in 1845, they were admitted as the 38th state.

Now that you have finished thy stupid book You now know some basic information on the Texian revolution. Now read something else.
